Chief Paul J. Rickard

Paul J. Rickard was appointed Chief of Police on May 12, 2010. Chief Rickard holds a Master of
Public Administration from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
In addition he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Johns University and an Associate of
Arts degree from Orange County Community College. Chief Rickard is a graduate of the 221st
Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Prior to becoming Chief of Police in
Mount Hope he served for 21 years in the City of Middletown Police Department rising to Bureau
Commander of Operations. Chief Rickard is an Instructor of Criminal Justice at Orange County
Community College. Chief Rickard is married with two children.



Deputy Chief James B. Corcoran

James B. Corcoran was appointed as Deputy Chief of Police on April 9, 2015. Deputy Chief Corcoran graduated magna cum laude from Marist College with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. In addition he graduated from Orange County Community College with an A.A.S. degree, also in Criminal Justice. Deputy Chief Corcoran also graduated the 227th secession of the FBI National Academy.

Prior to his appointment to Deputy Chief, Corcoran served as a Police Officer here in Mount Hope. His law enforcement public service spans over three decades with the majority spent in the City of Middletown where he retired as training lieutenant after having served in a number of positions such as accreditation manager, tactical commander (tactical unit), and trauma support coordinator. Deputy Chief Corcoran also served as Chief of Police for the Village of Montgomery.

Corcoran is married with two adult children.

Sherri Clarke

Sherri Clarke has been  Administrative Assistant for the police department since 1997. She is
married and has two children.
